Plant Maintenance

Title: Plant Maintenance

Reports To: Plant Manager and Plant Consultant

Summary of Position: This position is responsible for, but not limited to, performing maintenance services in the areas of plumbing, electrical, welding, construction, painting and/or machine servicing.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals and part catalogs when necessary
• Diagnose forklift and crane/hoist issues and fix them quickly and efficiently
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
• Repair, replace and reassemble defective equipment parts using hand and power tools
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings

Qualifications:
• Must have knowledge on preventative maintenance on forklift and heavy machinery
• 6 months experience in maintenance
• Knowledge in repairing air pumps and hydraulic presses
• Demonstrate skills in resolving issues quickly and efficiently
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Have basic computer skills
• Have excellent communication skills
• Must be able to multitask and work in a production environment

Work Environment:
• Must be able to work in a wide range of weather conditions in a manufacturing environment under immediate supervision, for long shift periods
• Consists of smoke, irritating particular impurities, and chemical fumes

Physical Demand:
• Lift, carry, push and or pull up to 50lbs
• Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently
• Sit, stand, walk and drive for 1 – 10 hours per day
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at all heights
• Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective driving gear

Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:00am – 2:30pm (hours will vary based on business needs generally around 45-60 hours per week. Will include some nights and weekends)
